My Role Technical Designer & Production Managing
The Project
My role involved overseeing the technical design, coordinating the shipping and logistics, and managing key aspects of the fabrication process. The plinth was cast using Jesmonite and GRP, a new method developed to handle complex, fragile structures. A lightweight aluminium frame was required to carry and suspend the moulds, along with a secure fixing system the figures. I optimised the shipping and assembly processes and produced a detailed installation manual for the Washington-based installers to ensure seamless setup.
